so I got a holley truck avenger carb to try out this weekend from a buddy of mine.Swapped it onto my motor,everythings good.start it up and it revs up to 2000rpm,i didn't connect elec. choke so I shut it off,put a spring on the choke linkage(it was on high idle cam)spring is on the outside linkage,start it back up all is good adjust idle,warms up alittle,wack the throttle and hear something ping then motor sounds like its knocking,shut it off look around,nothing,start it up and Ican hear something knocking,WTF I think there was something in the carb when i opened the throttle plates it dropped into the motor,went and picked up Brooke from daycare thinking about this the hole time.pulled plugs hoping to find a damaged electrode to tell me what cyl. nope nothing,fish around inside cyl. with magnet thru plug holes,nothing(brought every cyl up to top).O.K. pull intake and hope to find something in intake valve area,nope nothing,oh well i'm in this far gotta pull the heads to find something,heads are off still nothing.WTF!!!!!

Gonna check it out tomorrow,get some gaskets and slap the bitch back together.Brodix heads and a 3500 to 8000 rpm cam might not jive with my jeep junk.HAHAHA

Wednesday night around 11:00 fired it up!sounds O.K. timings off gotta pull the dist. its off a tooth.should be good to go 4 the weekend.
