I have a '54 wagon that I have been rebuilding and all of my pedals are wobbly. The brake and the clutch both wiggle side to side at the pivot point and the accelerator linkage flops around in the hole in the floor pan. Am I missing some bushings? Thanks.

Follow this link:
Pedal fix The gas pedal (if it's like a CJ) has two ears on the bottom with a cross pin. You can either drill it out and use a larger pin or get a replacement pedal assy for cheap from Omix.

I was told that the wagons and trucks had a factory fix it kit. Well, factory or not I was told that you can run a rod though the shaft with a washer and nut on the outside and on the inside, a nut, washer, and a sleeve. Tightening the nuts will pull the sleeve in and squish the pedals together to eliminate slop. Not really a proper fix is the shaft or pedals are worn badly.
Doesn't work on 4cyl CJs due to clearance.
As far as the gas pedal, if its wobbly on the mounting plate, can you put in a larger bolt or pin?

Thanks! The larger pin worked great on the gas pedal. I'll look into the clutch/brake fix too.
