We (the NEA) probably won't have a trail cut for this month due to all the rain and flooding in NH the past 2 weeks.

HUNTERS NOTE: STATE PROPERTIES CLOSED IN SOUTHWEST NH

CONCORD, N.H. -- Following heavy rainfall and severe flooding in the southwest
part of the state, the New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic
Development (DRED) has closed several state parks, state forests, and state
trail areas to protect the safety of visitors. The properties will remain closed
until the weather is stable and when assessments show no safety issues to the
public.

Hunters -- especially moose hunters, who will be in the field the weekend of
October 15 -- should make note of the closures and plan their hunts accordingly.

Below is a list of the closed state properties, listed alphabetically by
property name.

STATE FORESTS CLOSED DUE TO FLOODING

The New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED) has closed several state parks and state trail areas in the southwestern part of the state to protect the safety of visitors. Authorized under Administrative Rule Res 7301.07 (cool.gif (3), the closures are necessary to allow time to inspect department properties and assess the damage to roads, bridges, dams, and trails following the recent heavy rain over Columbus Day weekend.

Department crews have done initial assessments this week on DRED properties affected by the heavy rains and flooding. The properties will remain closed until the weather is stable and the assessments have been completed.

Below is a list of the affected state forests listed alphabetically by property name. This list will continue to be updated as conditions change and assessments are made.
